Macintosh Instructions for Changing to PAP

A. You will need to change the configuration of PPP:

You will change the configuration from the connect script method to the PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) method.
Your modem username and modem password WILL BE THE SAME as they are now, however.

Open Control Panels
Open Config PPP
Click New... button (give a name - e.g. PAP 862-3800)
Click Config... button and set up just like your previous configuration
------- EXCEPT do NOT enter a script with the Connect script... button; make sure the script window has no entries in the boxes,
------- AND DO fill in the Authentication... button dialog with your modem username and modem password. (Or, if you leave this blank, you will be prompted for username and password.)
Close the windows.

Your changes are complete. Connect to TAMU modems as you did before. Be sure to use the 862-3800 number.
