How to specify a URL and clickable link in a web document. 9/5/95 To SEE the URL for a link in a document, put the mouse pointer over the link in the web page you're looking at, and look on the bottom line of the page. You'll see the url there. (this is for netscape) You can get url's other ways, too, of course. To REFER to a url in web document that you are creating, use this syntax: Houston explanation: -- partial close quote for the url; the user doesn't see what comes between the opening . Houston -- the clickable text = what the user sees in the web document (as opposed to the actual long url) The user will see and click on this text to access the url document. -- the final close quote for the url You can also see the source of a web document that you are viewing. (In netscape, choose the view item from the menu bar, and choose source... from the drop down menu. Other web browsers have the same function available, possibly under a different menu bar heading.) The example that I used with "Houston" can be found on the A&M home page url http://www.tamu.edu/
